Hello my brother,
In Joel 2:28-29 the following prophecy was uttered: "And in the last days,” God says, “I shall pour out some of my spirit upon every sort of flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy and your young men will see visions and your old men will dream dreams; and even upon my men slaves and upon my women slaves I will pour out some of my spirit in those days, and they will prophesy. . . . And everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved."
We know though our study of the scriptures this prophecy began to be fulfilled at Pentecost in 33 C.E, when holy spirit was poured out upon the 1st Christian congregation. Peter confirms this in Acts 2. For quite sometime, I always assumed this scripture was fulfilled during the "last days" of the Jewish system of things, which ended with the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 C.E. However, I now believe this scripture could STILL be under going fulfillment as the "Israel of God" or 144,000 is still being gathered, down to this day. What say you my brother?
Prophecies often have an initial phase and a final phase. Many times a prophecy will have a fulfillment of other prophecies within it. For example, the 70 weeks. That prophecy was 'a timed event' of 490 years.
It had a Beginning and an End. It began in 455 BCE and ended in 36 CE.
Let's list a few prophecies that were fulfilled within the Prophecy of 70 weeks. “In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the Angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bore them and carried them all the days of old.” (Isaiah 63:9 Darby) The prophecy was fulfilled by Jesus Christ on Nisan 14th, 33 CE.
Another prophecy that was fulfilled within the Prophecy of 70 weeks is listed as “Behold, I send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me; and the Lord whom ye seek will suddenly come to his temple, and the Angel of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he cometh, saith Jehovah of hosts.” (Malachi 3:1) Again, this prophecy was fulfilled by Jesus Christ between the years 29 CE and 33 CE.
Joel 2:28-29 is another one of those prophecies that has several other prophecies that are fulfilled within it. But how long is this prophecy? Two days. "However, do not let this escape your notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." (2 Peter 3:8)
"He will revive us after two days. On the third day he will raise us up, And we will live before him. We will know, we will earnestly seek to know Jehovah. His going out is as certain as the dawn; He will come to us like a pouring rain, Like a spring rain that saturates the earth.” (Hosea 6:2-3)
Jesus Christ himself referred to Hosea 6:2-3 in reference to the temple which is his Spiritual Body of New Jerusalem, the 144,000, But the Chief Cornerstone was rejected by the wicked religious leaders of his day and this rejection continues today. Jesus replied to them: “Tear down this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." (John 2:19) Now we know that Jesus' prophecy was fulfilled in a literal sense of him being resurrected in the third day. But the Prophecy at Joel is not completed yet, is it?
The wicked are still living among us, are they not? Starting at Pentecost 33 CE, Jesus began building the foundation with living stones. Since Jesus Christ stated, 'in three days I will raise it up' those called and chosen would need be sealed before the third day begins. So the 'allotted times' for this prophecy is two days, from Pentecost 33 CE to 2033. Keep up the good work Brother, you are spot on!
